Today marks the release of Ubisoft's latest update for AC Mirage, version 1.0.6, which introduces the eagerly awaited New Game Plus mode across all gaming platforms.

The development team behind Assassin's Creed had previously announced the arrival of this new feature, and fans of the franchise will now have access to it. Unlike expectations, the official patch notes did not detail the arrival of the Perma-death mode, a feature that caught the interest of many. It seems this mode will see its debut in a later update.

With the advent of New Game Plus, players can now dive back into the adventure while adopting Bayek's attire from the 2017 hit Assassin's Creed Origins. This outfit is not only visually striking but comes with three distinctive dyes, too. This update is not just about new content; it also brings enhancements to parkour mechanics with it, enabling players to scale heights quicker and traverse larger gaps with ease.

As customary, the update packs various fixes and quality-of-life improvements, focusing on quest progression and graphical tweaks. Those interested in the specifics of the update can delve into the complete release notes available from Ubisoft. The update size varies by platform, with a 5GB download required for PC users, 2GB for those on PS5, 3GB for the PS4 and Xbox One, and a slightly larger 4.76GB required for the Xbox Series X|S.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is currently playable globally and is supported on a wide range of platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. In our review at launch, while finding some aspects of the game's mechanics to be routine with limited innovation in combat, we acknowledged that any shortcomings in one facet are largely counterbalanced by the game's robust attributes elsewhere. Despite a longing for more fresh elements within the tried and tested formula of the Assassin's Creed series, Mirage delivers an engrossing world and compelling mission structure that largely makes up for any familiarity in its underlying gameplay mechanics.
