The excitement surrounding Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 continues to build as developer Saber Interactive reveals a roadmap detailing the free content players can anticipate following the game’s launch next month.
The first significant update is scheduled for September, aligning with the commencement of the inaugural season. This update will introduce a variety of quality-of-life enhancements, including support for ultrawide monitors, the option to establish private PvE lobbies, and the debut of the Battle Barge Sparring Arena. While these features will be accessible to all players, those who purchase the season pass will also obtain the Ultramarines Cosmetic Pack to personalize their space marine experience.
As the year progresses, even more free content is slated for release with the arrival of the second season. This update will include new PvE missions, the formidable 'Lethal' difficulty setting, the introduction of the Neo-Volkite Pistol, and an additional enemy type to challenge players. Additionally, season pass holders will enjoy the Dark Angels champion pack, a new cosmetic pack, and a weapon skin pack.
The updates are set to continue into 2025, bringing along two additional seasons for players to explore. Season three will offer a fresh PvE mission, a new PvP game mode, new PvP arenas, a new adversary, PvE prestige ranks, and enhancements to the battle barge introduced in the first season. Those who own the season pass can look forward to fresh champion packs, a cosmetic pack, and a weapon skin pack.
Following this, season four will unveil a horde mode, introduce a new enemy, and add a new weapon to the mix. Once again, season pass owners will be rewarded with new champion packs, a cosmetic pack, and a weapon skin pack.
Overall, it’s clear that players will have plenty of reasons to return to Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2. With a healthy combination of free and premium content, this third-person shooter is poised to delight fans of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The game is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X and S platforms on September 9.
