Sonic Racing: Crossworlds continues its steady evolution as Sega expands the karting experience with frequent downloadable content releases. The game now welcomes new free driver updates alongside other paid extras that add fresh excitement for enthusiasts.

Developers introduce two distinct DLC types. One features well-known characters from various franchises, including figures such as SpongeBob, Pac-Man, Mega Man, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles among others. These guest characters arrive with their own vehicles and tracks and are available as paid content. In contrast, numerous free updates spotlight familiar figures from Sega’s own roster, enabling fans to enjoy racing with icons like AiAi from the Monkey Ball series, Ichiban Kasuga from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Nights, and Joker from Persona 5.

Today marks the arrival of another complimentary update, showcasing two popular characters originally introduced in Sonic’s comic series. Their popularity in the comics has led to their debut as racing drivers in Sonic Racing: Crossworlds. These new additions promise to inject additional character and flair into the racing lineup.

The update brings along an in-game festival with several exciting features:

  • The new driver update becomes available on February 25.
  • A festival event kicks off on February 26 at 7PM ET and runs until March 1 at 6:59PM ET.
  • The World Match mode will be temporarily disabled during the festival period.
  • A special reward feature that doubles the point-up chance activates at a 50% rate in celebration of the duo.
  • Players are encouraged to team up with their friends to take advantage of the new characters and join in the friendly competition.
