At the BIG Conference in Bilbao, an opportunity emerged to explore a variety of games and engage with their creators. Among them was the intriguing title Lethal Honor from Viral Studios, introduced to us by its art director, Antonio José, and producer, Álvaro Iturmendi. Their unique game draws inspiration from the aesthetic of classic comic book artists, infusing it into a gaming experience.

Antonio José explained the vision behind the game, stating that they aimed to capture the essence of comic art reminiscent of Mike Mignola and Frank Miller. However, the transition to a 3D format proved challenging, leading the team to opt for a blend of 2D and 3D components to create this distinctive visual style.

In Lethal Honor, players will be tasked with preventing an apocalypse in a roguelike format while wielding a variety of weapons and special abilities. Iturmendi shared insights about the gameplay, mentioning the current arsenal that includes a katana, katars, and a war hammer. Players can utilize different abilities and collect artifacts that can alter gameplay mechanics, adding layers of strategy to their experience.

The narrative centers around a clandestine group known as Lethal Honor, of which the players are members. As the apocalypse unfolds, demons attack the society's facility, initiating the game's action. According to Iturmendi, while Lethal Honor represents the protagonists, there are individuals among them with questionable motivations, enhancing the complexity and fascination of the narrative.

On the publishing front, they have partnered with HandyGames, with a projected release timeframe set for 2025. The art director revealed intends to release the game on various platforms, such as PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series, Steam, and Nintendo Switch. Although a precise release date remains unconfirmed, March 2025 has been mentioned as a possibility.

For those eager to experience Lethal Honor before its official launch, a demo version is already accessible on Steam. Additionally, an interview featuring comprehensive subtitles in various languages offers further insights into the game and its development.
