Recent announcements from the developers of Helldivers 2 indicate they are reversing certain contentious updates related to the Flamethrower, specifically boosting its damage output by 33%. This means players will once again have the thrilling experience of incinerating Chargers and other enemies.
According to Arrowhead, they have listened closely to player feedback regarding the Flamethrower modifications introduced in the prior month's Escalation of Freedom update, prompting them to make changes aimed at restoring the enjoyable element of gameplay. In their latest blog post, they shared insights into their ongoing 60-day action plan and confirmed that adjustments to Flamethrower mechanics are scheduled for release on September 17. The developers expressed their commitment to restoring the weapon's previous effectiveness by enhancing its damage capabilities.
In their social media updates, Arrowhead detailed that the Flamethrower would revert to its former mechanics, allowing it to affect more formidable foes, including Chargers, Bile Titans, Impalers, and Hulks. Furthermore, the team plans to continuously reveal more information about upcoming modifications leading up to the September 17 launch, which promises exciting additions for players.
Arrowhead also announced significant modifications regarding Armor Penetration across over 30 weapons and strategies, aiming to improve gameplay balance. Adjustments to Anti-Tank weaponry and enemy attributes will ensure that certain adversaries are less formidable than before. While the focus today was primarily on Flamethrowers, players can anticipate further insights regarding additional shifts in the coming days as the release date approaches.
The leadership team at Helldivers 2 acknowledged that there have been instances where development has strayed off track. They conveyed a desire to regain momentum but emphasized a commitment to maintaining quality before increasing the pace of Warbond releases.
